Father's Day 06/21/09

Though it was a hazy and drizzly day, Marissa and Colin lit up my Father's Day by coming over in the morning and sharing most of the day with me.

Current Picture They then took me on a drive down through Portsmouth and out around Newcastle. Very relaxing and just what I needed for what for me is the most important day of the year.

Marissa forced me into seclusion in the library while she dragged these heavy boxes in with a new deck set of table and two chairs. What a great gift! She knew that I had been wanting to get a set for the deck for the past couple of years and that I had been out seriously looking at sets a few weeks before. I had wondered why she had put the poop-damper on everything that I had said might look good. She had just told me to hold on and she'd go out with me and provide supervision.

Before starting to put the set together, Marissa hauled me off in the car to Aroma Joes to 'bust my bean'. Wow! Best cup of coffee I have ever had. Great start to the day. We came back to the condo, and it didn't take Marissa long to put the deck set all together. I have no idea what casued the white circle-thing in this picture... regardless, Marissa had put on the movie Twister, so as she did the assembly, we watched that in Blu-ray. Just a great morning.

Colin snapped this shot of Marissa and me with the new deck set between clouds and sprinkles. It's just perfect, and exactly the size and style that I was looking for.

We drove out to the Coast Guard Station and snapped this shot through the mist. Question: How much better could it get? Answer: It can't.
