The Great 2007 Welcome In The New Year Backgammon Tournament And Friday Night Fights! 01/19/07

Just a small get together as it was a busy week for most and the weather was threatening bad things, though fortunately that didn't happen. It did snow pretty hard late Thursday evening as we sat in Applebee's playing backgammon after karate class. We speculated on the possibility of not even having the party because of the slick roads. But by morning, it had warmed up and very little of the snow that had fallen remained.

We had some of the roughest games yet - lots of doubles and action. Though I had been down 9 points against Rick Thursday, I was able to come back to only a 1 under dog. Saturday night we're getting together again to play as Rick is hoping to regain his dominate lead for the week. We'll see about that...

We were so busy playing and having a good time, that I totally spaced out and didn't take any pictures. Just envision wild people yelling at each other and throwing the doubling cube. That should do it. Suffice it to say that we also had great pizza and Steve introduced us to a really smooth Jamaican larger, Red Stripe.

The party's name was aptly made as the movie of the night was The Protector - a really action packed martial arts movie. I cranked up the surround sound and had another Red Stripe. Life is good...
