The kid's had given me a large package of specialty meats from a local restaurant and deli, and I asked them over Sunday the 20th for a Father's Day cook out.

Colin was able to join us at 4:30, and we enjoyed chatting with him over a cold Sam Summer Ale on the screen porch until it was time to get the grill going. He and I went out and cooked the steak tips while Sue got the corn done.

We had such a nice time that he stayed until 8:30, much later than he had planned as Swayzie had probably gotten home from work around that time, so he headed out to catch up with her.

Great meal and such a nice visit with Colin on what I consider the most important day of the year for me. I had several nice texts from both Marissa and Chuck, and Sue just made it such a wonderfully relaxing special day.

Colin listening to a fire alert call to see if he had to go in; he didn't. But that's the life he's working toward. He was woken up a couple of nights before at 2:00am and didn't get back to bed until 4:30 am to catch a couple hours sleep before he had to head off to work. So proud of him.
