10/06/20: Foliage Walks At French Preserve, and Hamilton House

Saturday 10/06/20, had a nice day with Beau by taking walks both at French Preserve, and out at Hamilton House.

We started out by doing a couple of miles through the woods at the French Preserve Recreational Area just off of Horntown Road. Because of the ongoing drought, the water is so low in the creek that flows along River Road that Sue has been crossing over it with Beau, and then walking up to the bridge.

I really enjoy that walk, though today I stayed at the bridge while she continued on for another quarter mile or so with Beau.

I scuttled down the side gully to a nice quite spot at the edge of the water, found a large rock to sit on, and had a wonderfully relaxing meditation set while waiting for them to return.

From French Preserve, we headed over 202. 108. and 236 to visit the gardens at the Hamilton House in South Berwick, ME. It had been quite awhile since our last visit, and Sue had assumed that the flowers must have all passed. We were pleased to see, however, that many were still doing so well. And there was enough color in the surrounding trees to make a lovely backdrop to the entire estate.

We were surprised to see such color remaining in many of the flowers in the gardens.
