08/11/20: Cookout At Ossipee Lake

Sue and I headed out early Tuesday afternoon 08/11/20 for a Cook Out At Ossipee Lake.

We stopped off on the way up Route 28 at the store to get a couple of pounds of ground beef, buns, onion, and some other things for the cook out.

We hadn't seen Sue's brother Alan in quite awhile, so were glad we could meet up with him at his camp on Ossipee Lake.

While we waited for Alan to make it over, Sue took Beau down to the beach so he could cool off in the water as it was really a hot day. Though she encouraged him to come out on the dock, or to try to swim to her as she floated around in a large tube, She couldn't convince him.

I'm not real sure he can swim, but Sue says he does sometimes in the brooks on their walks. I've never seen him swim, and he sure wasn't even venturing out on the dock. He does like to eat though....

Alan and I got the grill fired up just before 6:00 pm, and I had the burgers done shortly after that. We all ate out on the deck, making a couple of trips back into the house for more chips, or cole slaw.

Long day, though, so it was good to head for home just as the sun was dropping behind the tree line to the west. By the time we got home around 9:30pm, we were pretty tired, and so we just headed for bed.

That's about as far as Sue could coax Beau out from the shore.

I enjoyed the great view of the lake just sitting on the deck. We've got a wonderful view where we live on the mountain, but this is the nuts....

Sue went back in the water for another swim, but Beau just wasn't hearing it at all.
