Dinner and Play in Portsmouth 09/19/19

Mid Thursday afternoon, Sue and I headed into Portsmouth for dinner and to see a play.

On the way we stopped to look for new glasses frames for me, and then a long stop to get Sue a new cell phone.

We were a little late for our 5:30 dinner reservations at Rudi's, but it was Thursday, and so no problem getting seated right away. Rudi's has a very relaxed, low light backdrop to it; a nice change from the bustle of downtown Portsmouth. I'm not sure how long it's been since I've eaten here, but a long time for sure.

Though the menu is heavily slanted toward fish, there are several other selections available. We enjoyed our meals, though I felt more attention to seasoning, spices, and herbs is needed.

After dinner we walked over to Seacoast Repertory Theater to see the play, Once. It was a beautiful walk. The night air had just a hint of crispness to it, and we just took our time.

The Rep description for Once: "This emotionally captivating musical is the only show to have music that won an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, an Olivier Award and a Tony Award. Winner of seven additional Tony Awards including Best Musical, Once is an unforgettable story that reminds us of the importance of going for our dreams, and the power of music to connect us all."

The play was terrific, but it was a long day for me as I didn't get to bed until just after midnight. I was pretty beat the next day, but I'm getting stronger little by little.
