David of Boucher's Wood Floor Care had requested that no one enter the house until Monday to allow the last coat of poly to completely dry. I could hardly wait to get up to the house to see them!
It was an early call as I had to meet the TDS Telcom technician between 8:00 am and noon. I stopped on the way up to get coffee, and almost dropped my cup when I saw how beautiful the floors had come out.
While I waited for the technician to arrive, Bob from Top of The Ridge Chimney showed up to work on repairing the oil furnance chimney flue. Turned out that he had to order more parts, and so it was a short visit. But Nolan from TDS spent almost 4 hours getting internet, tv, and phone systems set up, and then running me through their operations.
Sue got home not long after I did, and was so excited about the pictures of the floors that I had sent to her. She was so about to burst that I told her to jump in the car, and I'd run her up to the house before dusk so that she could see them.
Neither of us could believe the warm, inviting glow the floors gave off from the orangish sky as the sun began to drop below the tree line. We had to celebrate, and so we stopped for dinner at the Granite Grill in Rochester on the way back to the condo. That was our first time there, and we were really pleased with everything; we'll be going back for sure. A nice end to a busy day for Sue, for sure.
