This picture was taken by Peter in August 1999 as I was getting Ming ready to head South for the winter.
And this is the reason I head South in the winter. Here is a picture of Peter's son Colin cleaning up after a snow storm in January of 2003.
However, there are those who enjoy such weather — like Peter's daughter Marissa shown here coming down the slope on her new snowboard at Smuggler's Notch, VT in November of 2002!
But this is what the Pomeroy Cove area off the Piscataqua River in Dover, NH looks like early on a Summer's morning...

Marissa got the surprise of her life when Colin and Peter drove up in Colin's new truck towing this new boat for her May 2003 14th birthday! Last year, she had really gotten into boating and knew just what she wanted: Center console, 14' to 16' Carolina Skiff. And that's just what we found for her over at Bob Young's in Newington, NH!
Here is Colin bringing Peter's 23' Pacific Seacraft Alberg design sloop Linnet's Wings into the dock. You can clearly see Ming swinging gently to the hook in the background.
